There is a 10/10 dated version of FAA Form 8130-3, Authorized Release Certificate, floating around and is being used by some of us. I did a little checking with the folks in the FAA who run the on-line forms section of the data base and here’s what they had to say;

“FAA Form 8130-3 dated 6/01 is the correct version of the form to be used. Authorized versions of the form are available from the FAA Forms website. Other sources (federal, public or private) are not official FAA forms repositories so may not always have the correct or authorized version available. Please continue to access the FAA Forms site for the most current and correct version of your form.”

I have posted the correct version in the Forms section of this site which can be accessed through the “All Resources” link located in the right side bar. We advice that you discontinue the use of the 10/10 dated version until it is offically released. The AIR group responsible for the FAA Form 8130-3 is aware of the issue and will more than likely be releasing the form soon. I will keep you posted.
